Dr. H. B. Singh is a renowned Plant Pathologist with over 40 years of experience in sustainable agriculture, biotechnology, and microbial plant protection technologies. He is currently serving as Chairman, Uttar Pradesh State Environment Assessment Committee, Lucknow (2021–2025). He previously held roles as Distinguished Professor at GLA University, Mathura, and Professor and Head of Plant Pathology at Banaras Hindu University. Dr. Singh has made significant contributions to the development of eco-friendly biopesticides, biofertilizers, and biostimulants, with technologies adopted by multiple government labs across Uttar Pradesh. He has guided 32 Ph.D. scholars, published 320+ research papers, 96 book chapters, and edited 50 books with reputed publishers like Springer, Elsevier, and CABI. He holds 19 patents, including international filings, with five commercialized technologies. Among numerous honors, he received the CSIR Award for Rural Development, M.S. Swaminathan Award, and Vigyan Ratna Award. He has also served on several national task forces under DBT and DST and is listed among the Top 2% scientists globally (Stanford ranking).
